James Tunnard Studio was formed in 2021 to create unique bespoke public-art commissions.

Working across a wide range of disciplines and materials the studio is curious, imaginative and experimental in nature.

Informed by an ongoing investigation into materials, form, colour, light and their effects, the creative output of the studio seeks to explore connections between art, science, nature and society, producing work that often references structures and patterns found in nature,


The studio creates elegantly designed and crafted pieces through a focus on the tactile qualities of materials, innovative fabrication techniques and care and attention to detail throughout the creative process.

The studio works in collaboration with clients and commissioners through the stages of concept, design, manufacture and installation to produce ambitious bold and beautiful creations that share a sense of curiosity, joy and wonder.

James Tunnard is a trained artist and designer (MA – RCA) with over a decades professional experience working within the art world for leading international artists' studios.
